10 Hospital Isolation Room Have Bird Flu WHO & EU Assistance

A total of 10 hospitals in Indonesia received support from the Agency Kesahatan (WHO) and the EU for the manufacture of bird flu isolation room. Of the 10 hospitals that, two who were ready the department of Friendship and Tangerang District Hospital.

Since late 2007, the European Union through the project INSPAI has built a special isolation facilities for bird flu in 10 hospitals throughout Indonesia. On Monday, the bird flu isolation room located in Tangerang District Hospital was inaugurated at once handed over to Minister of Health.

"Of the 10 bird flu isolation room, which was ready for a new use in the department of Friendship and Tangerang District Hospital. The others followed," said Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih when inaugurating the Bubble Tangerang District Hospital in Tangerang on Monday (12/12/2011).

Bird flu isolation room specially created with a grant from the European Union through the project Implementing the Strategic Plan for Avian Influenza (INSPAI). In practice, this project is run jointly with representatives of the World Health Organization or WHO to Indonesia.

Specificity of the bird flu isolation room isolation compared to the other is the use of negative air pressure or air pressure is lower than outside. This difference makes the germs of bird flu is more controlled, it is not easy and spread to the wind blown out.

In addition to building a bird flu isolation chamber 10, 8000 INSPAI also train health workers in risky areas such as Yogyakarta, South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, Jakarta, Bengkulu and West Kalimantan. A variety of bird flu-related programs are conducted INSPAI for 5 years since December 2007.
