Baby named Milind Agarwal was taken to the doctor in July with the symptoms of suspected viral infection. The baby was then invited back and given nose drops.

Consultation by telephone with other doctors recommend that parents give paracetamol, but his father and mother are still worried and called an ambulance. Her son was then taken to Northwick Park Hospital in north London and not otherwise completely healthy.

The baby eventually died of septic inflammation of the liver due to an aortic heart valve in an abnormal condition.

A consultant pediatric pathologist said the cause of death that the baby's vitamin D deficiency plays a role in the development of infection and recommended that all pregnant and lactating women are prescribed vitamin D every day.
